The much-awaited 19th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan Scheme) scheme has been released today, February 24, 2025. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bhagalpur to officially disburse the funds to eligible farmers under this flagship scheme. The PM Kisan scheme has already benefitted over 11 crore farmers through 18 successful instalments, with around 9.58 crore farmers receiving the benefits of the previous instalment.
What Is the PM Kisan Scheme?
For those unfamiliar, the PM Kisan Scheme aims to provide financial assistance to land-holding agriculture-practicing families across India. The scheme offers an annual income support of Rs 6,000, distributed in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each. These funds are directly transferred to the bank accounts of eligible farmers every four months. Eligible family members include the husband, wife, and minor children of the farmer.

Farmers can check their beneficiary status under the PM Kisan Scheme by following these simple steps:
- Visit the PM Kisan Website: Go to the official PM Kisan website.
- Access Beneficiary Status Page: Click on the ‘Beneficiary Status’ option.
- Provide Necessary Details: Enter your Aadhar number or account number.
- View Status: Click on ‘Get Data’ to view your beneficiary status.
How To Complete eKYC Process
To continue receiving benefits under the PM Kisan Scheme, registered beneficiaries must complete their eKYC process. There are three available modes for eKYC:
- OTP-based e-KYC: Accessible through the PM-Kisan Portal and Mobile App.
- Biometric-based e-KYC: Available at Common Service Centres (CSCs) and State Seva Kendra (SSKs).
- Face Authentication-based e-KYC: Offered on the PM Kisan Mobile App, widely used by millions of farmers.
Eligibility Criteria for PM Kisan Scheme
Certain categories of individuals are not eligible for the PM Kisan Scheme. These include:
- Institutional Landholders: Including current/former holders of constitutional posts, ministers, MPs, MLAs, mayors, and district panchayat chairpersons.
- Government Employees: Serving or retired officers and employees of Central/State Government Ministries, PSEs, Autonomous Institutions, and Local Bodies (excluding Multi-Tasking Staff/Class IV/Group D employees).
- Taxpayers: Farmers who paid income tax in the previous assessment year.
